Farm House in Tuscany F.A.Q.

Where are you?
We are in the area of Certaldo, Tuscany, on the Provincial road 50, towards Sciano, after 5 km and 6 km from Certaldo.

Are the prices indicated for apartment or for each person?
Prices are for apartment according to the established number of occupants.

How many apartments and flats are in the building?
There are six apartments distributed between the ground floor and the first floor.

Are pets allowed?
Yes. All the year round, pets of any size. Of course, we trust in your (and their) good manners to avoid any inconvenience to other guests on the farm.

Is there a restaurant?
No, there is not. We can only offer B&B, or you can use the fully equipped kitchen of the apartment. We can also recommend restaurants in the area.

Do you have a particularly romantic apartment?
We have two such apartments: the numbers 13 and 16. But the others are also very cosy and quiet.

What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in from 3,00 p.m. to 7,00 p.m.
Ckeck-out by 10,00 a.m.
The times can be modified; if it is possible you can stay on longer or if you come from a distance we can wait for your arrival.

Are you close to noisy roads, motorways, railways, airports?
The holiday farm is in the middle of a 22 hectares estate, on a hill overlooking a beauty and vast valley which ends with the Towers of San Gimignano. A quiet and peaceful spot without being isolated; the provincial road is 200 meters away.

Are the prices indicated full comprehensive, or are there any extras?
Prices are fully comprehensive, including the final cleaning of the apartment. Heating is not included.

Do we need to bring sheets, blankets or any other household items?
You do not need to bring anything from home. Each apartment is supplied with bed linen, towels and a fully equipped kitchen.

Is there a laundry room?
A free laundry room is available for the guests.

Do you let rooms or apartments?
We let apartments. Each apartment is furnished with a fully equipped kitchen or cooking area, living/dining-room, TV, bathroom, one or two bed-rooms. All apartments – including the first floor ones – have a private garden, furnished with table and chairs for eating outside. We also have one single room with a double-bed, bathroom and fridge.

Is there any heating?
All apartments have their central heating. The apartment n. 10 is air-conditioned. Heating is the only extra to be paid; the consumption is calculated on the basis of the initial and final meter readings.

Do you let apartments for one night or a weekend?
The minimum stay is of two nights, excluding the period 1st July – 31st August, where a minimum of one week is preferable.

How far are you from Florence or Siena?
Both cities are at about 40 kilometres (25 miles); about a half-hour journey by car. If you do not drive, you can reach both cities by train: every hour from Certaldo Station (7 km). San Gimignano is only 11 km from Certaldo.

Is there a swimming pool nearby?
Yes. In the garden of the holiday farm there is an outdoor swimming pool reserved for the guests, it is open 24 hours and it is never crowded.

Are there restaurants?
In the area there are many restaurants – typical and refined – and pizzerias. You can consult our blog. The best restaurant we can recommend is the “Osteria il Campanellino” where the quality is very good and the prices are reasonable. But there are many others…

Are there riding stables nearby?
There are stables beside the farmhouse, with 20 horses available. You can arrange with the instructors any kind of riding activity, also for children.

How far are the shops?
The nearest supermarket is ten minutes by car. Same distance for the chemist, the baker, the greengrocer, the newsagent (with many European newspapers), the bar, several restaurants, the Post Office, the bank, etc.

Is it possible to cook in the apartments?
Yes, all apartments have their own fully equipped kitchen.

Is there a garden?
Around the farmhouse there are twelve hectares of meadows, fields and woods of our property where you can walk freely. There is also a common park of the house plus a private garden for each apartment. There are footpaths where you can trek or have a walk, or horse ride.

Where do your guests generally come?
From Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, France, United States and Israel.
